Tyias Browning insists he has put a rollercoaster 12 months behind him and hopes a productive loan spell with Preston North End will help him reach Everton’s first team once again.

Tyias Browning

Born in Liverpool, Browning joined Everton’s Academy as a schoolboy and his ascent through the ranks resulted in a senior debut

in the cauldron atmosphere of the Merseyside derby in September 2014, emerging as a second-half substitute and giving an impressive account of himself, which also included a hand in Phil Jagielka's memorable last-gasp equaliser as the Toffees registered a 1-1 draw.

Eight more first-team appearances for the Blues followed before the defender, who can play at Centre back or right-back, suffered a serious knee injury in training that required an operation in December 2015.

The now-22-year-old made his return to action for David Unsworth’s Under-23s side 11 months later, playing 45 minutes of the young Blues’ Premier League Cup game against Norwich City in November.

The Club’s belief in Browning’s ability was underlined when he was offered a new two-and-a-half-year contract last month, before being sent to Deep dale for the rest of the 2016/17 campaign to get back to full fitness.

The youngster had also played two games for Wigan Athletic in the Championship while on loan in 2014 and will now get the opportunity to add to his bank of experience.
