The feline form—sleek, proud, and with a glint in its eye—has been immortalized in the Panthère de Cartier bag. It evokes the original and creative heritage of Jeanne Toussaint who was the first to adopt the panther as her signature while she was creative director at Cartier in the 1940s. Known as the “Petite Pantheré” by Louis Cartier himself, grandson to the luxury house’s founder, Toussaint could very well be known as Cartier’s first panther, and this heritage lives on today through the design of Marlin Yuson.
