On February 4, 2015, Sri Lanka celebrates 67 years of Independence. There have been many achievements during that time in the economy, civil administration, social services and development in general.

To the 15th century Portuguese invaders the mountain was the Pico de Adam. To the English it was Adam’s Peak. Today it is popularly known as Sri Pada in reference to the footprint on the peak, religiously believed to be that of the Buddha.
Bundala National Park is a small but important coastal protected area in the southeast of Sri Lanka and is considered an internationally significant habitat for migratory birds.
