Finally, the summer holidays are upon us, and while we must still exercise caution in travel, the sense of freedom this season brings is almost tangible – even if life is still a little confusing, with green lists, red lists, PCR tests and quarantine.

But to capitalize on the summertime vibes, this issue we throw the windows open at some of the world’s most beautiful properties, to bring you the best views from the city to countryside to coast. We take you to Jumby Bay in the West Indies to the edge of the Iguassu Falls in Brazil and to Shanghai’s city of culture, art, excess and mystique.

With Italy on so many tick lists this summer, we venture to Amalfi Town for a whirlwind 24 hours along the coast, with lashings of charm, high-end shopping and UNESCO World Heritage beauty.

You can still elicit a sense of escapism closer to home.
