Standing at the top of a grassy knoll at sunset, a pastel pink hue is spectacularly painted across the sky. The city lights of Barcelona flicker below as the strawberry sky magically transitions into an inky blue. The scene is dreamlike. Phantasmagorical, even. While I’m certainly not alone in this world-renowned hotspot, there’s a remarkable stillness to the scene. A sense of peace caresses my mind. I’m lost in the moment, swept off my feet. This sunset is undeniably soul soothing.
The restorative power of travel is fascinating. Whether it’s an impromptu night away in the countryside two hours from home, or a far-flung adventure to a tropical island, temporarily escaping the everyday is incredibly healing for our mental wellbeing. Gently unearthing the treasures of a new destination with its beauty and cultural wonders has profoundly uplifting abilities. Lean into the experience at any given opportunity.
