XL Bully pulled hijab off woman after its owner shouted at her

AN XL Bully dog is to be destroyed after attacking a mum-of-two.

The animal pulled a hijab off the victim and left teeth marks on her forehead.A judge at Mold Crown Court on Tuesday heard the incident happened when the dog targeted the woman on Wrexham High Street.

Its owner, Tomasz Wegner, was charged.

The 45-year-old pleaded guilty to possessing a fighting dog and to being the owner of a dog dangerously out of control.

His Honour Simon Mills gave Wegner a 15-month jail term suspended for two years. He was disqualified from keeping a dog for two years.

Prosecutor Laura Knightly said a woman called Yasmin Begum had been standing on High Street in Wrexham at 2.36pm on August 31 last year.

Ms Knightly said Ms Begum noticed the defendant walking with the dog and moved away because she was "scared".
