'EMPLOYMENT' AIM AS MAJOR EX-CHEMICAL WORKS SITE SOLD

AN 'EERIE' abandoned former bromine plant on Anglesey has been sold.

The Octel plant at Amlwch Port has a long industrial history, previously being used to produce bromine from sea water.

It ceased production in 2004. Since then it has been in a moribund state despite its potential for a range of alternative uses - including leisure and tourism, residential development, and mixed-use schemes.

Last year, Legat Owen was instructed by Anglesey LNG Limited to market the site, which extends to approximately 61 acres.

They've now announced that a sale has been completed.

It is understood that the purchaser intends to repurpose the site for employment use, breathing new life into this strategically located property.
