Festivals Of India
Festivals mean, especially to children, a holiday from school. Festivals also bring up images of prayers, fasts and feasts, giving and receiving gifts, new clothes to wear and much more. Some festivals are common throughout the country, some are celebrated in particular regions or by particular groups. Even when they are common, the reason for celebration and the names of such festivals may be different. Some celebrate the change of seasons, others celebrate the birth of great incarnations and yet others the victory of good over evil. Let’s celebrate as we traverse a variety of festivals that are celebrated in India.
