Our long-awaited summer full of adventure is finally here after two long years of disappointing wanderlust. We have some great travel
suggestions and destinations for you in this issue.

Culture Magazin had the pleasure of briefly interviewing Mississauga Mayor Bonnie Crombie at Saigon Park’s official inauguration event. This new and
beautiful Mississauga park pays homage to the city’s friendship with the Vietnamese Canadian community, many of whom found refuge in Canada
during the Fall of Saigon in April 1975. Mayor Crombie shared her vision for the city of Mississauga and spoke about her role as a female leader.

We invite you to watch a video about this occasion on our YouTube Culture Channel. You can also meet two of the MCs, author Nguyen Ngoc Ngan and musician Nam Loc, who share their thoughts about this historic event for the Vietnamese Canadian community.

As we celebrate Canada Day’s 155th anniversary, Culture Magazin gives thanks to Canada for welcoming the Vietnamese to this land. We also look at the
formation and development of the Vietnamese community in Canada, marked by the opening of Saigon Park. This is the first park that recognizes Vietnamese
abroad.

At Merrill House, in Prince Edward County, we explore the hotel’s upscale makeover. Going further abroad, we take you to San Miguel de Allende and Guanajuato in the heart of Mexico. Our Vietnam culture and travel column is an introduction to the Kate festival of the Cham people in Ninh Thuan.

For the foodies out there, we’ve covered some of the restaurants on the Top 100 Best list of 2022. Readers will enjoy learning about books authored by
Vietnamese writers in North America. For those who like to decorate, we have suggestions on ways to transform your outdoor space.
