With the best of British sport on display last week at the Commonwealth Games, it was the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s happy-go-lucky daughter Princess Charlotte’s time to shine.

The seven-year-old was spotted looking animated as she watched the swimming heats in Birmingham, followed by greeting dignitaries outside the event.

The young princess looked very much at home in front of the cameras and shaking hands with adults – it’s clear she’s going to take to public life very well.

While Charlotte’s sporty side is no secret – she and William certainly love their soccer – it turns out her first pick is gymnastics!

“Charlotte spends most of her time upside-down, doing handstands and cartwheels,” Kate revealed last week.
