It's go-time in the garden as October bursts into bloom

There's one big, bold, colourful and fragrant thing you can't help but notice - we are right in the peak of spring. All around flowers are in full bloom and lush, green shoots abound. It's an inspiring time to be out in the garden or strolling through your local park. Don't forget to visit a nursery or two to see what seasonal treasures they might have for you to take home.

WHAT TO PLANT

With the warmer days now well and truly with us, now is the perfect time to plant just about anything - vegies, annuals, shrubs and trees. In short, if you can buy it, you should plant it.

Do remember to always prepare your soil to suit the specific needs of your plant. Watering appropriately is the number one way to ensure they establish quickly and strongly. Regular applications of a soil tonic, like Seasol, will help reduce transplant shock and speed up the establishment process.
