Teacher, entrepreneur bakes own recipe for success

A prayer for financial relief led entrepreneur and baker Reginah Magolo to launch her own bakery, Madam Ree Corporation, from her home in Sunbird Street.

Magolo, who is also a teacher at Taxila Secondary School and describes herself as deeply prayerful, said the idea came during a moment of devotion.

"I was praying and asking for a financial breakthrough. Then suddenly an idea dropped into my spirit. From that day, I never looked back. I knew baking bread was, and still is, the solution," she said.

Until then, baking bread had never crossed her mind. She said the decision to turn bread sales into a business was driven by both faith and practicality.

"Bread forms part of our daily meals. Bread is literally our daily bread. I also saw the potential the bakery had to create employment for our people and help close the unemployment gap," Magolo said.
