Mumbai faces chaos as CNG outage strands commuters across city
Mumbai woke up to a massive transport disruption on Monday after a sudden CNG outage hit the city. The problem started when a Gail gas pipeline inside the ref area in Chembur was damaged late Sunday night. This particular pipeline supplies gas to Mahanagar gas limited’s main station in Wadala. As soon as the pipeline was affected gas pressure dropped sharply causing most CNG pumps across the city to shut down. When commuters stepped out for work and school on Monday morning they found that almost all pumps were displaying ‘No CNGsigns.
