At least 346 individuals and 87 families were displaced after a third alarm fire broke out in Sitio McArthur, Barangay Tejero, Cebu City yesterday dawn, September 17, leaving an estimated damage worth P1.35 million.

- Nicholas Jon Malaga/JG

Cebu City Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) reported that the residential fire started around 3:23 a.m. and was immediately raised to first alarm at 3:26 a.m.

Since most of the houses are made of light materials, the blaze progressed to its second alarm by 3:34 a.m. and reached its third alarm by 3:54 a.m.

At 4:40 a.m., the fire was declared under control and was completely put out at 5:00 a.m.— after more than an hour and a half of firefighting operation.
