Tejero fire leaves 87 families homeless

At least 346 individuals and 87 families were displaced after a third alarm fire broke out in Sitio McArthur, Barangay Tejero, Cebu City yesterday dawn, September 17, leaving an estimated damage worth P1.35 million.
Cebu City Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) reported that the residential fire started around 3:23 a.m. and was immediately raised to first alarm at 3:26 a.m.
Since most of the houses are made of light materials, the blaze progressed to its second alarm by 3:34 a.m. and reached its third alarm by 3:54 a.m.
At 4:40 a.m., the fire was declared under control and was completely put out at 5:00 a.m.— after more than an hour and a half of firefighting operation.
