Immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of National Landscape for benefits to wellbeing

At Cornwall National Landscape we are firm believers in the importance of the landscape for physical and mental health.

The benefits for all-round wellbeing are numerous but as we have been learning there can be more barriers to accessing the landscape than simply making a choice between which coast to head to.

Being able to experience the natural beauty and abundance of nature at this time of year is not as easy for some of us, and sometimes getting outdoors can feel too much of an uphill challenge. That's why this weekend we are keen to encourage you to head out into the landscape and immerse yourself in nature in one of three ways; listen, read, explore.

Bring the landscape to you by listening to the BBC Sounds recording of Perran in the Sands by Emma Timpany, who wrote the short story, inspired by the protected landscape, as part of our anthology 12 Stories for 12 Sections. Visit www.bbc.co. uk/sounds/play/p0kjltjv or scan the QR code to listen to the stories.
