Pupils embrace the great outdoors

Children toasting marshmallows and making nature crowns in a forest might not be a typical school day - but for one primary, it is all part of a growing focus on outdoor learning.

St Benedict's Catholic Primary School in Midsomer Norton has secured a £1,500 grant through Tesco's Stronger Starts programme, thanks to the support of local shoppers who voted for the project with blue tokens in stores.

The funding will be used to improve the school’s gardening facilities and outdoor learning spaces, giving pupils more opportunities to explore nature and engage in hands-on education.
