Israel sends in land forces as 103 killed in air strikes

ISRAEL launched “extensive” ground operations in Gaza over the weekend, while air strikes reportedly killed at least 103 people including many children.
More than 48 people, 18 of them children, died in the southern city of Khan Younis, while strikes in Jabaliya in northern Gaza killed 19, including a family of nine, Hamas-run health and civil defence services said.
Israel is pressuring Hamas to agree to a temporary ceasefire on Israel’s terms, including the release of all 58 remaining hostages seized by Hamas in the October 2023 attacks.
