Bank rate setter 'pretty concerned' by economy

RACHEL Reeves has been hit with a fresh blow after a Bank of England rate setter said he remained “pretty concerned” about Britain’s economic outlook.

Alan Taylor signalled that the tariff trade war launched by Donald Trump will continue to hinder this country.

The Bank bigwig also indicated he will seek to cut interest rates again soon and dismissed recent stronger-than-expected inflation figures.

His remarks come as the Chancellor grapples to balance the books following October's controversial Budget.

Since the £40billion tax raid, the economy has floundered while unemployment and inflation have risen.
