In a major stride towards modernizing urban land records, Goa has launched the NAKSHA project, a pilot initiative under the Digital India Land Records Modernization Program (DILRMP).

The project, which is fully funded by the Central Government, will be rolled out across three urban local bodies (ULBs) in Goa: Panaji, Cuncolim, and Margao. Chief Minister Pramod Sawant officially launched the project, stating that NAKSHA will play a crucial role in enhancing urban planning, streamlining land dealings, and improving disaster management. The GIS-based initiative will generate 3D maps of the selected cities, which will help in efficient taxation, encroachment removal, and urban developme
