Rite of passage as four lads swap sixth form for a place in the slum
Yorkshire Evening Post
|July 07, 2025
The teenager of the house recently experienced a watershed moment. Long-awaited and even longer saved up for, he went on his first lads' holiday.

The Greek island of Zante was the lucky recipient of 12 lads all on the hunt for sun, sea, sand and four fishbowls for 10 euros.
This rite of passage to adulthood saw him unpack for good the UV protection T-shirts, travel sized DVD player and inflatable turtle of his childhood holidays-the latter swapped for a real one spotted on a speedboat trip, as it turns out.
Predictably, nobody came back with a fantastic tan but they did meet two big-name DJs, survived a booze cruise and most importantly all made it home in one piece.
At which point, two hours after dumping his suitcase in the hall and looking for something to eat that wasn't either kebab or burger, he decided it was time to reminisce about the week's antics by watching the Inbetweeners Movie.
It's clearly largely aimed at fans of the TV series, which is fair enough. It was far too good to simply end with the lads' predictably disastrous camping trip.
