Institutions must rethink their role in supporting enterprises.

“In the past, securities firms mainly acted as intermediaries for transactions. Going forward, they need to become strategic partners that help businesses standardise governance, build transparent financial structures, and connect with long-term investment flows. Without that transformation, the private sector will struggle to scale up sustainably,” he added.

Tran Hoai Nam, deputy CEO of HDBank, said private enterprises often remain weak in financial transparency and operational standards, making banks more cautious in credit assessments. “Many enterprises still lack transparent financial reporting or stable participation in supply and distribution chains. In such cases, collateral remains one of the key considerations for lenders,” Nam said.
