Earlier in the day, Modi's supporters flooded social media with patriotic fervour and calls for retribution. However, the evening's ceasefire announcement reversed the narrative, unleashing a torrent of scorn, satire, and accusations of political cowardice.

A widely circulated post on Facebook reflected the prevailing anger: "RSS served the British in 1947, and now in 2025, BJP bends before Trump while the nation cries for revenge." Instagram and X (formerly Twitter) also witnessed a barrage of memes, mockery, and vitriol directed at the BJP for what many perceived as a betrayal of national sentiment.
