Vijay positions himself as the 'only' alternative to DMK

Launching a blistering attack on PM Modi and CM MK Stalin, actor-turned politician Vijay on Thursday positioned himself as the only alternative to the ruling DMK, reiterating it as the prime political enemy, and asserted that his Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) will never align directly or indirectly with the fascist BJP.

"Modi ji, you have come to office for the third time. Is it to serve the people or to conspire against the Muslim minorities and to oppress them? You have an agenda to continue till 2029 through blackmail in a direct alliance with the AIADMK and a secret pact with the DMK, beholden to you and the RSS. But your plans won't succeed," he said while addressing the second state conference of the TVK at Parapathi village near Madurai. "When even water will not stay on the lotus leaves, how will the Tamil people support the BJP that too when you have been discriminating against Tamil Nadu in every way?" he asked.
