PM Modi to attend 47th ASEAN summit virtually

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will not be travelling to Kuala Lumpur to attend the 47th ASEAN summit. Instead, he will be participating in the summit, as well as the 22nd ASEAN-India Summit on 26 October virtually.
The Ministry of External Affairs, in a statement on Thursday, said: "Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and the ASEAN leaders will jointly review the progress in ASEAN-India relations and discuss initiatives for strengthening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership." Strengthening ASEAN ties remains a cornerstone of India's foreign policy, aimed at fostering regional peace, economic resilience, and inclusive growth. Following the ASEAN-India Summit, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will represent India at the 20th East Asia Summit being held in Kuala Lumpur on 27 October.
