DARREN Moore is under pressure as his Port Vale side take on bottom club Plymouth Argyle on Saturday lunchtime (12.30pm).

'Finger can't just be pointed at boss Moore for Valiants' form'

IMPRESSIVE: Port Vale's Cameron Humphreys.

That's the view of former Valiants defender Adam Yates who doesn't blame the management entirely for the position the club find themselves in - he thinks players are accountable too.

Asked on BBC Radio Stoke whether he thinks Moore's position is under scrutiny, with the team third-bottom of the League One table, Yates replied: “There has to be pressure. When you look at the teams around Vale, managers have either lost jobs or are under pressure. They've [Vale] have not been anywhere near good enough this year.

“I think the problem sometimes is there isn’t a balanced side, there's too many changes. I think the players have probably let him down a little bit as well.

“I am not for one moment just blaming the manager and his backroom staff. The players have not pulled their weight. There have been too many individual errors and lapses of concentration. Things that you can’t really coach.”
