Tinted lenses help Shona see world in a different light

A GATESHEAD woman's life was transformed when she tried special light-tinted glasses for the first time.

Personal assistant Shona Quine, 50, has struggled with "overwhelming" light sensitivity, headaches and difficulty reading. Shona, who has ADHD, was in fact experiencing something called “visual stress” which affects many people who are neurodivergent.

Shona explained that activities such as shopping or long car journeys had become sources of exhaustion and anxiety as a result. She said: "I didn’t realise how much visual stress was affecting my life. Sometimes with the headaches, I would just put it down to being overly tired."
