Gamble on Tino is paying off for Newcastle

IF the rest of Europe did not already know a lot about Tino Livramento, they certainly do now.

UEFA even hailed Livramento as a 'powerful, athletic and technically strong fullback' after naming the Newcastle United defender in their team of the tournament at the under-21 Euros.

Those words won't come as a surprise to Thomas Tuchel, of course, who watched England triumph in the final.

The England boss wanted to see Livramento 'taking responsibility, knowing that it is on his shoulders' ahead of the World Cup next summer, and the 22-year-old certainly stepped up in Slovakia.

Not only was Livramento a member of England's leadership group in camp the defender also led by example on the field after relishing the 'privilege' of representing his country at a tournament for the first time.
