Historic home enters new era of hospitality

Fowberry Tower, near Chatton in Northumberland, has revealed the results of a revamp that it says heralds a whole new era.

As these images show, the striking property - billed as one of the county's most distinctive and architecturally significant country houses - is set to impress all over again.

Fowberry Tower is a Grade II* listed mansion - whose estate now makes cider - and it is renowned for its Strawberry Hill-style Gothic interiors, referencing the architecture of the 1700s Strawberry Hill House in London, which predates Gothic Revival.

Those ornate interiors can now be enjoyed by guests who can book into a choice of eight rooms, dine in a spectacular formal dining room and have a nightcap in a wood-panelled whisky room.
