Everything's rosy for Gardiner as he gets off mark for UTS

FORMER Sunderland academy striker Harry Gardiner opened his account as Dunston UTS edged out Bridlington Town at the UTS Stadium.

Gardiner put Dunston in front just before the interval and David Robinson doubled the lead on the hour-mark.

Jacob Day got the visitors back into the game midway through the second half but Jon McDonald's men held on to take the points.

Heaton Stannington inflicted a 2-0 defeat on Bishop Auckland to lift themselves into the top ten of the table. Stan striker Dale Pearson did all of the damage for the hosts with a first-half double.

Bishops parted company with manager Leon Carling in the aftermath of the defeat.
