Driver flees after crash

A driver crashed into a house in Wallsend before fleeing the scene.
-
The crash - which involved just a single vehicle - caused structural damage to the property and it had been feared it may have caused a gas leak.
This was not the case, though the crash did cause damage to the area around the gas meter of the property in Rosehill Road in the Battle Hill area. The incident took place just before 10am on Wednesday.
