Demolition plan rejected by council

A COUNCIL has rejected an attempt to demolish a fire-hit derelict building in Newcastle.

There have been calls for action this year over the vandalised Sinfonia House, in Jesmond Vale.

‘The Springbank Road building, formerly the rehearsal space for the Northern Sinfonia orchestra, was the target of a suspected arson attack in June, after which local councillors called for a long-awaited regeneration of the site.
