Parking bay turns out NOT to be one after all

Dan Down is frustrated that no signage alerts drivers that several bays in the Cornwall Council-operated Cawsand car park have been withdrawn from use - despite the painted markings remaining visible.

The authority recently remarked spaces in the 139-bay car park on the Rame Peninsula, but chose not to restore approximately seven bays, aiming to improve vehicle circulation. However, the previous markings remain apparent, causing motorists to use them - and subsequently receive penalties.

Mr Down, who has been coming to Cawsand for more than two decades and had returned for a break with his wife, young son and extended family, used one of the defunct parking bays on Sunday (August 17) unknowingly and came back to discover a £50 penalty notice on his vehicle, reports CornwallLive.
