'BLUE MEADOWS' WINS RUNNER-UP PRIZE

- By HEREALD REPORTER

PLYMOUTH'S Ocean Conservation Trust's flagship ocean habitats restoration project, Blue Meadows, has won a runner-up prize at the 2025 BIAZA Great British Wildlife Restoration (GBWR) Awards.

The British and Irish Association of Zoos and Aquariums' (BIAZA) GBWR awards is in its third year, and was inspired by Sir David Attenborough's love for the natural world.

The winners are voted for by MPs, which makes the entire event a win for raising awareness of the numerous, vital conservation efforts that are taking place across Britain.

The Ocean Conservation Trust (OCT) CEO Ian McFadzen and Ocean Advocacy Manager Grace Clifford attended the ceremony, where the Blue Meadows project was recognised as one of 26 nominated conservation projects to win an award, recognising outstanding efforts to conserve native species across the British Isles.
