V-League a golden opportunity for Cebu volleyball community

Inaugural Visayas tournament set to kick off July 6

The V-League, the country's first ever amateur volleyball league, formally launched its ground-breaking Visayas expansion in a grand ceremony on Saturday, June 28, at the Quest Hotel and Convention Center.

No less than Sports Vision Management Group Inc. President Richard Palou, who established the V-League in 2004, graced the historic event together with V-League Visayas commissioner Ken Silverio Ucang and the athletic directors, coaches, and team captains of the six participating schools.

"The V-league is important for us because it is where the players are developed at young age," Palou said. "We've long wanted to grow it on a national scale, but time has always been a constraint. But two years ago, Ken talked to us to put up the V-League Visayas and I said, 'Why not?'. We're happy and excited to finally bring it here to Cebu."
