Mandaue City secures GAA funding for MCC, modern city hospital

A state-of-the-art Mandaue City College (MCC) and a modern Mandaue City Hospital (MCH) are among the projects funded under the 2026 General Appropriations Act (GAA).

This was announced by City Administrator Atty. Gonzalo Malig-on Jr. as the city prepares for the implementation of the projects by the end of the first quarter of the year. According to Malig-on, Mandaue City has secured P415 million in funding for the hospital and P450 million for the MCC.
“Katong vision sa Mayor (Thadeo Jovito ‘Jonkie’ Ouano) nga Mandaue City College ug ang upgrade sa Mandaue City Hospital, masugdan na gyud this year, hopefully towards the end of the quarter,” Malig-on said.
However, Malig-on clarified that the amounts reflected in the GAA do not yet cover the total funding requested by the city, noting that several funding pledges from national officials are expected to be released in phases.
