Mandaue City monitors price freeze compliance
The Freeman
|November 10, 2025
To avoid overpricing and other irregularities following the onslaught of Typhoon Tino, the Mandaue City Government is strictly monitoring retail stores and wholesalers across the city.
-
Through its Local Price Monitoring Council (LPMC), the city government is conducting random inspections to ensure full compliance with the price freeze order implemented by the national government.
Mayor Thadeo “Jonkie” Ouano assured the public that the local government will fully enforce this directive.
Before Typhoon Tino struck, Mayor Ouano signed Executive Order No. 2025-059, series of 2025, on November 3, formally organizing the LPMC in accordance with Republic Act No. 7581, or the Price Act, and the Local Government Code of 1991.
The Mandaue City Government has strengthened its consumer protection efforts with the creation of the LPMC, a body tasked with keeping the prices of basic goods and commodities stable, especially during calamities.
