Two new New Zealand work visas launch December 8, 2025-no English test, your ticket to working paradise
-
If you have ever dreamed of working a season in New Zealand-whether picking kiwifruit in the Bay of Plenty or guiding tourists in Queenstown-your opportunity just arrived. In a move to tackle severe labor shortages, the New Zealand government officially launched two new seasonal work visas earlier this month. These visas are distinct from the traditional Recognised Seasonal Employer (RSE) scheme and operate under the Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV) framework. Here is the breakdown of the Global Workforce Seasonal Visa (GWSV) and the Peak Seasonal Visa (PSV).
"Skilled" option: GWSV
This visa is designed for workers who have specialized skills that New Zealand needs year after year.
Best For: Ski instructors, winery cellar hands, adventure guides, and specialized agricultural machinery operators.
Duration: Valid for up to 3 years.
