ANY WIN IS A GOODWIN

JIM GOODWIN hopes United have piled the pressure on Aberdeen and Hibs ahead of their games today.

The Terrors made it three Premiership wins in a row with this narrow victory over St Johnstone.

Defender Emmanuel Adegboyega was the home hero with the only goal of the game in the first half.

The win lifted United up to fourth, above the Dons and level with Hibs.

And Saints, who secured a memorable win over Celtic last week, remain bottom.

United boss Goodwin admits the result was vital at this key stage of the season.

The manager said: "It'd be nice one day to be 3-0 up and to relax and enjoy the game.

"We've had to grind out three 1-0 victories against really difficult opposition.

"There was a lot riding on the game today for both teams and we knew Saints would be a really tough side to play. We worked on a high, aggressive press all week.

"I'd like us to do a bit more on the ball and have more control but at this stage of the season, it's about results.
