TIME TO FIRE UP FANS

BARRY FERGUSON has called on his Rangers side to light a fire under the Ibrox faithful as he aims to illuminate a path to the Europa League quarter-finals.

TIME TO FIRE UP FANS

The Gers caretaker gaffer masterminded last week’s incredible Istanbul triumph over Fenerbahce.

The 3-1 first-leg win over Jose Mourinho's Turks hushed the normally deafening Sukru Saracoglu Stadium and nudged the Light Blues to within just 90 minutes of the last eight. Ferguson — captain when Walter Smith’s men marched to the final of the UEFA Cup in 2008 - is well aware of the uplifting effect Gers’ home support can have on their team.

And he wants his men to give them a reason to crank up the volume even further as they look to finish off the Yellow Canaries.

The 47-year-old said: "In terms of playing here, I know what it's like on European nights.

"As a player, you've got to want to play in front of this crowd. I've been here this season, against Lyon, the Tottenham game - and the place is electric.

"We need to light that fire in the stands, that's what we need to start doing. The guys are well aware of that.

Online's fine for wine with these tips

BUYING wine online can be just as daunting as walking into a shop. That was the conclusion of a recent article in Decanter magazine. And they’re not wrong. If anything, I find the endless choice, plus variations in the information available, even more daunting. At least in a traditional bricks-and-mortar shop, you can ask for help or pick up the bottle and read the label!
