TIME TO FIRE UP FANS

BARRY FERGUSON has called on his Rangers side to light a fire under the Ibrox faithful as he aims to illuminate a path to the Europa League quarter-finals.

Ferguson — captain when Walter Smith’s men marched to the final of the UEFA Cup in 2008 - is well aware of the uplifting effect Gers’ home support can have on their team.

And he wants his men to give them a reason to crank up the volume even further as they look to finish off the Yellow Canaries.

The 47-year-old said: "In terms of playing here, I know what it's like on European nights.

"As a player, you've got to want to play in front of this crowd. I've been here this season, against Lyon, the Tottenham game - and the place is electric.

"We need to light that fire in the stands, that's what we need to start doing. The guys are well aware of that.
