Scots soldiers off to Cyprus
Scottish Daily Express
|June 28, 2025
A SCOTTISH Army battalion is gearing up to relocate to Cyprus for two years, where it will take on a new role as a high-readiness standby formation.
The soldiers of 4th Battalion, The Royal Regiment of Scotland, known as 4 Scots, have been based at the Bourlon Barracks at the Catterick Garrison in Yorkshire for the last 10 years.
During that time they have put down roots, building their families and friendships and continuing Scottish traditions like the Highland Games.
But the new posting will see them relocate to the British Sovereign Base Area at Dhekelia with the first flights scheduled for today.
The battalion will have to stand ready to respond at short notice to emerging situations across the Middle East and North Africa.
Exciting
