MOTHERWELL were managerless when Lukas Fadinger took a leap of faith to move to Lanarkshire.

Now he loves taking risks ON the park as Jens Berthel Askou's rapid revamp moves up a gear.

Fadi and his friends are hanging on the Danish head coach's every word as he beds in an exciting new style.

Yet there was no plan in place when the Austrian ace landed in Scotland in late May.

Fadinger penned his two-year deal just four days after Michael Wimmer's shock resignation.

There was a fortnight's void before Askou's appointment and that already looks like shrewd business.

The Steelmen are seven games unbeaten under the new boss. They've kept a clean sheet in four out of their last five matches.

And Askou's commitment to intense, possession-based play from the back is reaping rewards as well as earning plenty of plaudits.

On Saturday, Fadinger's 108th-minute winner booked a Premier Sports Cup last-eight trip to Aberdeen.

Fadinger said: "We are very pleased with the manager. He has so many great ideas. He wants to play football the right way - we are all fully behind him. You can tell that by the way we are working to play the way he wants us to play.
