Gerrard wants clarity on chain of command at Ibrox before any talks

STEVEN GERRARD will seek clarity on Rangers' chain of command before deciding whether to press on with talks over a sensational return to the hotseat.

It is understood the 45-year-old, who was Ibrox manager from 2018 to 2021, is ready to hold discussions with the club's new American owners in London this week, possibly as soon as today.

But sources close to Liverpool and England legend Gerrard insist these will merely be the first "exploratory" steps in a process that could take some time yet to complete.

It's certainly not at the formal interview stage, with this week's meeting arranged to give the man who led Gers to their last title four years ago a better understanding of how the current Light Blues pecking order has been laid out following the club's US summer takeover.
