Gray blasted again over ministerial car usage

THE embattled SNP Health Secretary has been accused of misleading parliament again after using a ministerial car to take him to a pub.

- By David Walker Scottish Politics Reporter

Neil Gray is again under pressure over his use of the taxpayer-funded limo service, which should only be utilised for taking Ministers to government engagements.

He has already been forced to apologise to MSPs and the public after being ferried to numerous Aberdeen FC games at Hampden, including a Scottish Cup semi-final and League Cup final.

No minutes were provided for some of these encounters despite him claiming they would be, leading to yet another humiliating public apology.

But now it has emerged that Mr Gray was also chauffeured to the Brig O’Don bar and then on to Pittodrie to watch the Dons play Livingston.

These journeys were logged in the official ministerial register as trips to and from a “personal address, Aberdeen” and were only amended after it was exposed that he didn’t have a personal address in the city.

Critics have claimed that he may have misled parliament yet again.
