Sutton: Gerro can revive Gers' title bid

CHRIS SUTTON believes a Steven Gerrard-inspired Rangers revival could deliver the title this season.

The Light Blues are nine points adrift of Celtic and 11 behind Premiership pacesetters Hearts.

But Hoops legend Sutton is convinced the gap would not be unsurmountable if Ibrox chiefs were willing to back Gerrard with major January investment.

The man who led Gers to their last league flag triumph in 2021 is in the frame to return following the sacking of Russell Martin at the weekend.

Sutton told the Record Sport Celtic Podcast: "The one thing about the prospect of Gerrard coming back is the fans love him because he stopped Celtic winning 10-in-a-row.

"January is the big unknown, of course. I know there's just been a big overhaul at Ibrox and lots of players coming in, but their squad isn't good enough.
