Family heartbreak as body of missing Scot found in gully

RELATIVES of missing Greg Monks say they are "truly heartbroken" after his body was found in a ravine in Portugal, bringing a week-long search to a tragic end.

The 38-year-old from Cambuslang, near Glasgow, disappeared on the first night of a five-day stag do to Albufeira on the Algarve in the early hours of Wednesday, May 28. He told friends he was going back to his holiday accommodation.

But the plant mechanic was last seen, on CCTV, miles away and walking away from the resort on a rural road dotted with villas.

After the alarm was raised when he failed to return, his parents and girlfriend flew out to help the search.
