Forest School gives nursery students a fun time in nature
Runcorn Weekly News
|July 10, 2025
MORE than 50 children from Dunky's Day Nursery in Runcorn are experiencing Forest School for the first time thanks to a generous donation from Viridor.
-
Viridor awarded the nursery, rated Outstanding by Ofsted, a £3,000 donation to cover the cost of transporting children from the nursery to Dunky's Forest School and Nursery at Gulliver's World in Warrington.
With the money, the children, all aged three to five-years-old, will be able to spend the day in an authentic Forest School environment in the grounds of Gulliver's World. The trips will be spread across ten weeks.
Dunky's Forest School and Nursery at Gulliver's World, which recently opened, occupies woodland in the grounds and children enjoy a wide range of activities using nature as a learning tool.
There are multiple bell tents, canopies and unique structures as well as a nature trail for children to explore.
