'Tot siens' sê is nooit maklik nie - veral nie na byna vier dekades se diens aan die gemeenskap nie.
Dr. Wikus Erasmus het saam met sy gesin besluit om die bosveld agter te laat en 'n nuwe hoofstuk langs die see in Mosselbaai te begin. Dit beteken ook afskeid neem van die praktyk waarvan hy deel was en die talle pasiënte wat hy oor die jare bedien het.
Die liefde vir medisyne het vroeg in sy lewe posgevat: toe hy in matriek moes kies tussen die plaaslewe en 'n mediese loopbaan. Die middeweg? Word 'n dokter én boer as stokperdjie met beeste.
Hy het in 1987 na die destydse Pietersburg verhuis en sy huisdokterjaar in die Provinsiale Hospitaal voltooi.
