Take care with tea lights, says fire service after tragedy

A MAN died in a house fire due to "improper use of tea lights", an inquest has heard.

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue deployed fire engines from the London Road and Arnold stations to Courtenay Gardens, St Ann's, just after 6am on April 10, last year.

Seeing smoke billowing from an upstairs window, firefighters entered the property wearing breathing equipment and found Robert Johnson, 66, on the floor of his kitchen.

Emergency services gave him CPR and he was taken to hospital, where he died later that day.
